Hi, I’m Micael. I’m an experimental textile artist, sculptor, and mother in Kansas City. My work centers on the emotional, scientifically proven quantum connection that we share with everything on the planet. I am interested in Catholic iconography, the mysticism of the Renaissance, and the lives and work of great women artists like Frida Kahlo, Hilma Af Klint, Georgia O’Keefe, and Artemisia Gentileschi. I am infatuated with ritual, symbolism, the macabre, and morbid whimsy. My creative and spiritual practices are intrinsically linked, my process a ritual, a catalyst to the divine. I explore matrilineal connections and the subconscious, interpreting them into visual representations founded on the symbolism of ancient matriarchal reverence, plants and animals. It is both a devotion and a dedication to the beauty of life, death, partnership, cooperation, and balance.

My life’s greatest work is raising my three children to be empathetic, kind, justice seekers. We grow native plants, save worms and bees, feed stray animals, and make art together.

Together we persist.
